Description

This solicitation is to provide services for planting Government-furnished tree seedlings on the Chiloquin Ranger District, Fremont-Winema National Forest. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, except those designated as Government-furnished, and incidentals to perform all work specified herein, and shall take proper safety and health precautions to protect the work, the workers, the public and the property of others. The proposed planting sites fall within the Skunk Fire of 2002. The Skunk Fire Salvage Timber Sale is currently in operation and is removing dead and dying timber at this time. The timber sale operations are expected to be completed in January or February 2004. The entire area of the salvage timber sale is approximately 900 acres in size. The timber sale maps that are included in this contract do not show all of the areas to be planted. Timber Sale maps have excluded areas such as cultural resource acres, wildlife areas, or other areas where no timber was planned to be removed; however the planting ordered will include some of these areas. The maps that will be provided with each task order will show the correct unit boundaries. Access to the area(s), method(s) of work, size of each unit and other specific information will be provided at the time a task order is issued. All units are located within 25 miles of Chiloquin, Oregon. Boundaries other than those easily identified by ground features have been marked with white tags and blue plastic ribbon. This is a small business set-aside. Issue date is approximately January 7, 2004.
