- MARKET SURVEY Ogden Air Logistics Center is preparing to issue a solicitation for Blast Media Blend and is seeking contractor comment on the following specification. Specific information needed is shown in question form following the specification. Purpose ? For total removal of coatings, carbon, corrosion on steel and/or aluminum with measurable profile. Application - Blast Media Blend that will clearly strip hard metal, carbon steel, and some aluminum parts for ground support equipment in a manner that will not warp, degrade or create wear and tear of the stripped item (ii) cause only minimal degrade to the media auger/transfer system. Standardized Test Pressure at Nozzle 35 psi max. Nozzle ? inch Double Venturi Angle of Attack 60 degrees Standoff 12 inches Flow Rate 700 pounds/hour Substrate Painted/Rusted/Pitted Carbon Steel Required Result SSPC SP5 White Profile 4 Mil Strip Rate 3 sq. ft/minute Durability 10 cycles Please answer the following questions: 1. Can your company provide a blend meeting the above specification? 2. Can your company accomplish the testing in-house and provide certification of the testing? 3. If not, does your company have access to an outside testing firm to accomplish the testing and provide certification? 4. If your company cannot provide a product which meets the above specifications, request your recommendation(s) for specification changes. 5. Does your company have recycling capabilities for this product in-house? 6. If not, does your company have access to an outside recycling firm for this product?
