Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial repair services onboard a united states government naval aircraft carrier. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number N627933339050 applies and is issued as a request for quotes. This solicitation request is for the following services: Contractor services are required to provide labor and material to chemically clean five (5) refrigeration plant condensers , York Model 376-51227-000, onboard the united states navy aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73). The unit numbers and compartment locations for the condensers are as follows: No. 1 & No. 2 Refrigeration Condensers ? Fwd Refrigeration Plant ( Compt 6-44-0-E); No. 3, 4,& 5 Refrigeration Condensers ? Aft Refrigeration Plant (Compt 7-180-0-E). Cont ractor shall use a chemical cleaning product listed in the NavShips Technical Manual, Chapter 531, and approved for use by NAVSEA for use on nuclear powered aircraft carriers. Contractor shall be responsible for disposing of all chemicals used in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Notes: 1) No employee or representative of the contractor shall be admitted to any facility or ship of the united states navy unless satisfactory proof of citizenship of the united states has been furnished. Also, the contractor shall comply with the security regulations in force at all various ship locations; 2) Work is to be performed onboard the USS George Washington (CVN-73) at the Naval Operations Base in Norfolk, Va. ; 3) Work is required to start by 12/22/2003 and complete by 1/12/2004 ; 4) Technical point of contact reg arding this work is MMCM Outerbridge at COMNAVAIRLANT, telephone number (757)-445-2260 ; 5) Bid proposals are to be submitted to Ron Joyner, Material Procurement Specialist, telephone : (757)-688-9062 (Voice), (757)-688-4441 (Fax), email joynerrc@supship.navy.mil or Steve Kampman, Contracting Officer, telephone: (757)-688-9072 (Voice ), (757)-688-5803 (Fax), email kampmansf@supship.navy.mil. Bid proposals must be received by 12: 00 noon EST on Friday 12/12/2003. Quotes will be accepted either by email or fax ; 6) Supervisor of Shipbuilding Newport News intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offer whose quote conforms to the solicitation requirements and has the lowest price; 7) This solicitation incorporates the applicable FAR clauses for a Commercial Acquisition in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
