Description
The Engineering Field Activity Chesapeake is offering for sale and removal items described on the attached form at Building 101, Catering and Conference Center, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC. The project will require the contractor to deconstruct the interior of Building 101. This work will consist of the removal of the current building interior and excess equipment in preparation for future work in building a new interior. Items available for removal are listed in Appendix A. The contractor will have approximately two weeks to complete the deconstruction. The timeframe is tentatively scheduled for 5 January 2004 through 19 January 2004. Deconstruction methods will be used to the maximum extent possible. For the purposes of this scope of work, deconstruction is defined as the systematic, controlled dismantling of a structiure in order to maximize the volume of material salvaged from that structure. This scope of work is only a portion of the work to be completed on this site. The government anticipates that NDW Public Works will abate regulated building materials at this site. In addition, a demolition contractor will arrive to complete any removal not practical using deconstruction. The contractor shall work in concert with the government's selected abatement and demolition contractor in order to maintain the safety and security of the site. The contractor must make every effort to coordinate its work in a manner that meets the objectives of this project. This solicitation will be posted to The ESol Website, http://esol.navfac.navy.mil on 8 December 2003. A site visit will take place on 16 December 2003 at 9:30AM.
