- Description
- The Government has a requirement for maintenance and repair services for one Taurus Sixty (5 megawatt) gas turbine driven generator set in accordance with the manufacturer?s (Solar Turbines Inc.) specifications. The equipment is located at the Naval Submarine Base New London, Groton, CT. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, supervision, and management to perform scheduled basic semi-annual (4000 hours) and annual (8000 hours) preventive maintenance services and potential associated repairs. Response to trouble calls shall be within 24 hours of notification. The solicitation will also contain an experience clause requiring demonstration of the following: 1. a minimum of three years of successful experience performing both routine maintenance and emergency repairs on Solar or identical gas turbine generators; 2. satisfactory responses to short notice (24 hours or less) repair requirements; 3. references denoting satisfactory performance on Solar or identical gas turbine generators; 4. unimpeded access to critical parts. The solicitation will be issued as a combination firm fixed price/indefinite quantity contract for a base period and four 12-month option periods to be exercised by the Government if found to be in its best interests, without further notice. The solicitation will contain FAR Clause 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services, and an Experience clause requesting demonstration of: 1. a minimum of three years of successful experience performing both routine maintenance and emergency repairs on Solar or identical gas turbine generators; 2. satisfactory response to short notice (24 hours or less) repair requirements; 3. references denoting satisfactory performance on Solar or identical gas turbine generators; 4. unimpeded access to critical parts. The approximate solicitation release date is 17 December 2003 and will be available in the Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file format only from http://www.esol.navfac.navy.mil. Contractors who register for the solicitation will be notified by e-mail when amendments to the solicitation are issued. All contractors must check the website regularly for any changes to the solicitation. The official Planholders List will be maintained on-line and can be printed from the web site. Contractors are required to register in the Department of Defense (DOD) Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database. Failure to register in CCR may render an offeror ineligible for award of DOD contracts.
