- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking comments from industry regarding the dry-docking of Navy ships in the Mayport, FL area. The Navy is interested in industries comments on the subject matter as to whether industry would prefer to provide their own docking capabilities or if industry would be interested in purchase of the SUSTAIN (ADFM-7) in fulfilling the Navy's anticipated FY07 through FY11 dry dock requirements. The Navy's estimated number of future dry dock availabilities are as follows: FY06, 0; FY07, 2; FY08, 1; FY09, 2; FY10, 4 and FY11, 3. Emergency dry-docking of ships is also a possibility and should be taken into consideration. Although the first scheduled availability is not until FY07, it is anticipated that a potential contract could be in place earlier than FY07. Comments should be received no later than 12/10/03 in order to support an industry confer ence in the Mayport, FL area by mid to late January.
