- Description
- Subject solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis for the Lens, Visor Flying Helmet. NSN: 8475-01-143-2088. Quantity: 6,125. This item requires Engineering Source Approval (ESA) by the design control activity in order to maintain the quality of the item. First Articles are required (4 units); inspection shall be at the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia. First Articles will be approved for optics, impact, and visual characteristics of MIL-V-43511. Waiver of First Articles Approval will be considered upon request on an individual basis. Twelve deliveries may be required beginning 180 days after date of award and every thirty days thereafter. Destination New Cumberland, PA and Tracy, CA. FOB Destination. Low Price/Technically acceptable source selection procedures will be utilized in making an award. If interested in learning the procedures necessary to be added as an approved source, please contact Mr. Le Huyen at Brooks Air Force Base at phone number 210-536-5127. All sources will be evaluated in accordance with Brook?s AFB?s procedures for officially adding a new source to the Controlled document. All material is contractor furnished. See numbered notes 9, 13, 23, and 26. Anticipated issue date December 10, 2003 (estimated). Anticipated date for receipt of offers is January 13, 2004. Generally, Clothing and Textile items as defined in DFARS clause 252.225-7012 and ?specialty metals? (as defined in DFARS clause 252.225-7014) must be grown, reprocessed, reused, melted or produced in the United States, its possessions or Puerto Rico, unless one of the DFARS 225.7002-2 exceptions applies.
