- Description
- The Office of Research Integrity (DHHS), through the Program Support Center, intends to negotiate a sole-source award with The University of California, San Diego, LaJolla,CA. Purpose:As part of its mission to promote research integrity throughout the PHS system, The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) is planning its third Research Conference on Research Integrity for November, 2004. This research conference serves as a critical vehicle for bringing researchers and graduate students together from a variety of academic disciplines for the purpose of discussing the latest issues associated with promoting research integrity. In addition, the meeting also provides an opportunity for researchers we have funded with the ORI /NIH research program on research integrity to share their latest research findings with fellow scholars. To date, the ORI/NIH research program on research integrity has funded 22 scholars from a variety of academic disciplines. ORI seeks to partner and co-host logistics support for the 2004 research conference on research integrity. UCSD has a strong Bioethics Department and an interest in promoting research integrity. This is a good fit for ORI. ORI wanted to go to the west coast to increase visibility of the program. THE PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION ACTION IS FOR SUPPLIES OR SERVICES FOR WHICH THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT AND NEGOTIATE WITH ONLY ONE SOURCE UNDER AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302. INTERESTED PERSONS MAY IDENTIFY THEIR INTEREST AND CAPABILITY TO RESPOND TO THE REQUIREMENT OR SUBMIT PROPOSALS WITHIN 7 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION BY THE GOVERNMENT NOT TO COMPETE THIS PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION BASED UPON RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE IS SOLELY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL NORMALLY BE CONSIDERED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER TO CONDUCT A COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT.
