- Description
- The U.S. Census Bureau is seeking sources capable of providing Blackberry products and services as described in the following draft requirements document. Interested parties capable of providing the requirements must e-mail a capability statement to the POC by October 17, 2003. This is not a Request for Proposal. This announcement is intended solely for the purpose of identifying potential sources. The requirements document follows: BlackBerry Draft Requirements Document Major Critical Requirements: - Acquire the 957, 6510, 6710, 5810 BlackBerry devices and any additional models of the BlackBerry device as technology advances. - Provide airtime carriers such as Cingular, T-mobile, Nextel, and any additional carriers that provide both data and voice services. - Provide the RIM (Research In Motion) Tx3 annual program and server support, which includes BlackBerry Enterprise server and BlackBerry desktop software upgrades. - Provides airtime (voice and data). - Provide extended warranty on existing Census equipment. - Provide 24x7 telephone, email, and fax support. - Provide five-name callers. - Offer Enhanced-Plus Technical Knowledge Center, Non-Production Server Support, Priority Queuing, User Alerts, and more. - Provide national and international coverage for both voice and data along with coverage maps. - Support 100-300 users and provide coverage for existing users. - Provide inventory control in 24 hours (information on: devices purchased by date, activation date, billing information for both voice and data, stock information, and warranty). - Provide extended warranty on existing equipment. - Provide call detail per number for voice (upon request with turnaround time at lease 5 business days). - Required to have a unique invoice number coincide with unique purchase order number. - Provide 7-day mandatory notification prior to termination on airtime to 3 designated individuals. - Ensure that airtime licenses coincide with government fiscal year (Oct. 1 - Sept. 30). - Invoicing system must accept monthly payments, not an upfront annual payment. - The device must be shipped to the Census Bureau in a deactivated state. - Activation/Deactivation needs to be done within 24 hours. - Upon user request, must have the ability to interchange SIM chips. - Provide information on trade-in discounts.
