Description
This is a sources sought notice only. This is for market research only. Please respond if your firm has access to personnel who can perform these duties in a remote location in Alaska. The Government is trying to determine if there are personnel available to perform this type of work at Fort Greely, Alaska. The personnel would have to be already located in Alaska, or willing to move to the location at their own expense. If your firm can respond to the additional information please send a notice via email to: Jennifer.Stewart@gsa.gov, if you have questions please call the Contracting Officer: Catherine Holland, 360-769-7198 MAJOR DUTIES Installs single line concept and data connectivity. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs existing telephone and data drops. 1. Relocates telephones or equipment with minimal interruption of service. Installs and relocates telephone equipment (e.g., P-telephones, key sets, multi-electronic sets, single line instruments, etc.). 50% 2. Installs cable and/or wires from building terminals to telephones and patch panels to data jacks (RJ45 568B). Installs terminals, terminates wires and tests for proper installation. Troubleshoots telephone and data connectivity, changing telephone instruments when necessary. Must work with the following circuit connectivity: (e.g., telephone lines, data lines, alarms, etc.). 50% SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge and understanding of Cat 6 cable installation. Knowledge of troubleshooting procedures to locate and determine the nature of trouble.Skill and ability to use test equipment (e.g., volt ohmmeter, LAN tester.) and hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, punch downs, etc.) Ability to read and interpret floor plans to determine necessary telephone and data drops.
