- Description
- The Federal Protective Service, Department of Homeland Security, Denver, Colorado is seeking an inventory management system to establish property accountability and asset management within the Service. FPS will consider commercially available products or Inventory Management Companies to fill this requirement. For the purpose of this document, "property" is defined as 1) Administrative; office property, 2) Vehicular; equipment found in squad cars and the vehicles themselves, and 3) Operational; police equipment, intrusion devices and surveillance equipment. The system must be able to provide a platform or tool to record multiple lines of property at multiple locations in a six state region. The system must have the flexibility to add and subtract lines of property at a systems manager level. The system must have the ability to generate asset management reports, in a comma-delineated format, by type property, value, or location. The ideal system would provide a web based inventory input page that would feed a database at a central location. Multiple users could sign on to a web site and record the property from their location. Inputs would include, but not limited to, property type, purchase value, current value, serial numbers, acquisition date, "owners" name, and location. The system must allow property additions as new property is added to FPS. Likewise, the system must allow for deletion when property is destroyed, lost, or worn out. The system must be able to print property receipts for each user to establish actual physical control of property. The system must provide management visibility into inventory levels through the use of a management query function. FPS will retain complete ownership of any system resulting from this effort. This Sources Sought Notice is being issued as a Market Survey tool to determine availability of commercially available software or Companies interested in providing an inventory management service to FPS. Using the information gathered from this Sources Sought Notice, the FPS will determine investment cost and construct a statement of work for a future acquisition. All interested parties that can provide the services detailed above, or have a commercial product capable of filling the requirements described above, should contact Jamie Harris via email at jamie.a.harris@dhs.gov for a possible product demonstration or company presentation. Mark your email "Inventory Management Information" to ensure that your information is handled correctly. Please respond to this notice NLT 28 November, 2003.
