Description

NA The Department of Defense (DOD)Soldier Systems Center, Natick, Massachusetts seeks sources for commercial or production ready level A and B chemical biological protective suits/ensembles. The equipment is intended to protect soldiers and other users from a wide variety of hazardous situations to include terrorist incidents. Submitters should be capable of meeting or exceeding NFPA 1994 certification criteria. The Government will review the manufacture's specifications to determine if submitters of candidat e protective ensemble will be invited to participate in a Government sponsored, possibly cost shared, NFPA 1994 based standardization assessment. This survey announcement is intended to identify existing mature suits (commercial off-the-shelf items are hig hly desired) and conduct testing to achieve certification to the aforementioned standards. There is no commitment on the part of the government to awrd a contract as a result of the request for information or to pay for the information received.
