Description
This project will consist of road reconstruction, retaining walls, guardwalls, and drainage on 6.91 miles of roadway for CA PRA YOSE 14(2), S. Fork Merced River Bridge and CA PRA YOSE 16(4), El Portal Road, in Yosemite National Park, Mariposa County, and State of California. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This project contains one schedule. Principal work items include: Miscellaneous survey and staking, 140 hrs; contract testing, lump sum; removal of structures and obstructions, lump sum; structure excavation; cofferdams, lump sum; placed riprap, various class, 701 cu yds; roadway aggregate, method 2, 1,330 tons; minor hot asphalt concrete, 960 tons; emulsified asphalt grade PMCE-1h, 180 tons; micro surfacing, type 3, 114,100 sq yds; structural concrete, class A, 1,476 cu yds; seal concrete for cofferdam, 650 cu yds; concrete coloring agent, 14,980 lbs; prestressing system, lump sum; reinforcing steel, 74,950 lbs; epoxy coated reinforcing steel, 138,000 lbs; simulated stone masonry surface treatment, 592 sq yds; cobble stone masonry, 105 sq yds; moving steel panel bridge to temporary location, lump sum; pavement markings, type B, 500 gals; construction sign, 800 sq ft; flagger/pilot car, 2,330 hrs; temporary pavement markings, 13.4 miles, along with associated clearing and grubbing and temporary traffic control. The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
