- NASA - Dryden Flight Research Center (NASA ? DFRC) is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for Airport Transportation Services. NASA ? DFRC has a requirement for the provision of Airport Transportation Services. NASA ? DFRC is located on Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB). EAFB is approximately 100 miles Northeast of Los Angeles. Dryden employees utilizing the Airport transportation service reside in the surrounding Antelope Valley communities of Lancaster, Palmdale, Rosamond, and (2) neighboring cities: California City and Tehachapi. NASA ? DFRC historically has supported at least 600 roundtrips per year from various Antelope Valley locations, California City, and Tehachapi, to the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The number of passengers varies from (1) to (4) per scheduled trip between home/airport/home. NASA ? DFRC will submit an advance notification (4-12 hours or more) to the contractor that a pick-up is needed. Notification will include flight time(s), places of pickup, passenger names and contact information. Contractor will contact individuals directly to make pickup arrangements. 1. Contractor shall provide timely pick-ups and deliveries (door to door service) from various Antelope Valley locations to the LAX and back. 2. Contractor shall provide timely pick-ups and deliveries from California City (door to door service) and its surroundings to the LAX and back. 3. Contractor shall provide timely pick-ups and deliveries from Tehachapi (door to door service) and its surroundings to the LAX and back. 4. Contractor shall provide an 800- telephone number, which is accessible and available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. 5. Contractor shall perform requested pick-up within 30 minutes of the agreed upon time for the specific pick-up. Contractor may combine DFRC trips so long as the total to pick-up time does not exceed the 30 minutes, agreed to time. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offeror?s responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized capabilities to meet the above requirement should submit a capability statement of 5 pages or less indicating the ability to perform all aspects of the effort described herein. Responses must include the following: whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years in business; list of customers covering the past five years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each contract; and point(s) of contact - addresses and phone number(s). The requirement is considered to be a commercial service. A commercial item is defined in FAR 2.101. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based on responses hereto. All responses shall be submitted to Maikeyza Brown no later than October 14, 2003.
