Description
NA Point of Contact for this project is Cassandra Williams @ (251) 441-5521. The contractor is to furnish all equipment, materials, and labor to purchase and install a bridge crane and hoist at Hangar 20165, Fort Rucker, Alabama. The crane and hoist shall be installed in accordance with the following specifications. DURATION: The Contractor shall complete the entire work ready for use no later than 180 calendar days after award of this purchase order. Technical specification for furnishing, installation, and testing of a new 5-ton bridge crane to operate on the existing runway rails in the aircraft maintenance hangar: 1. Furnish one (1) Trambeam patented track 5-ton capacity 3-runway overhead crane that will operate on the existing Trambeam patented track runway beams. Crane shall be an underhung design with runway spans of 45 feet -10 inches and 52 feet - 9 1/2 inche s, to match existing runway rails. Bridge crane shall have three (3) end trucks each having eight (8) forged steel wheels with double row tapered roller bearings and forged steel carrier head yokes. Bridge shall be motor driven with three (3) tractor dri ves for 55/15 FPM travel speed with variable frequency control. Bridge control shall include a manual fused disconnect switch and a magnetic mainline contactor operated from a pendant push button station. Push button station shall be festooned type opera ting on an independent track traveling the full length of the bridge. Hoist shall be 5-ton capacity electric wire rope, low head room type, with 30 feet - 0 inches of available lift and a motorized trolley. Hoist shall have 2-speed control for 18/6 FPM l ifting / lowering with true vertical lift using a double grooved drum. The trolley shall have variable frequency control for 45/12 FPM travel speed. Crane shall be furnished with 24 ft. bumper extensions on all three (3) end trucks to contact existing ov erhead crane trucks to prevent overload of the runway. Crane shall operate on the exiting runway conductor bars, and shall be furnished with collectors matching the existing system. Crane shall be designed to operate on 208 volt, three phase, 60 hz. alter nating current electrical system. Pendant control station enclosure shall be NEMA Type 12. Crane shall be shop fabricated and tested prior to delivery to the site. The crane shall be installed by the crane supplier and shall be operationally, and load tested, with a load test certificate provided. 2. Crane supplier shall up-grade the existing electrical service from power panel PP6 to the crane feeder rails. This shall include replacing the existing 50 amp breaker with a new 90 amp in panel PP6, and replacing the existing 4 - # 6, + 1 - # 10 gnd in a 1 1/4 inches conduit, with a new service to the feeder rails which will be 4 - # 2, + 1 - # 8 gnd in a 1 1/2 inches conduit.
