Description
The Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Service through a combined synopsis/solicitation procedure is requesting the following medical equipment: Specifications: Quantity: Nine (9) each 1) Norland pDexa: Peripheral pencil beam dual energy x-ray absorptiometers, detectors, rectilinear scanners (peripheral bone densitometers) of the same make and model (comparable to the Norland pDexa or equal) with computer system (including scanner, laptop or desktop computer and color printer); should be remanufactured/reconditioned. Minimum requirements are: computer should be IBM Compatible 80486-66 MHz w/ 4 MB RAM, 1.44 MB 3.5? disk, min. 500 MB Hard Drive, 420 MB Tape Drive, Mouse pointer, DOS 14? color monitor and color ink jet printer (comparable to HP 660 C). The units must be portable, have minimal radiation dosage (patient dose less than 1.5 mRems per scan), minimal radiation scatter (less than 0.1 mRem per hour @ 1.0 meter from beam) and not need additional radiation shielding, so that each can be used within regular clinic settings and surroundings, in business settings, homes and offices, and at regional health fairs. Calibration should be automatic with supplied QC Phantom and Calibration Standard. X-Ray source should have less than 0.3 mA; 28 keV and 48 keV peaks; min. filtration of 1.5 mm A1 equivalent. Scan window 5.9? X 4.7? (15 cm X 12 cm); dimensions of system (L x W x H) 20.5? x 17? x 16.7? (52 cm x 43 cm x 43 cm) or smaller. Patient clearance 4? (100 mm); weight 60 lbs. or less. Scan resolution 1.0 mm x 1.0 mm or better Measurement and Scout scan. Reported values to include distal radius plus ulna, proximal radius plus ulna and/or os calcis; BMD, BMC, Area, Length, Width, T-Score, Z-Score Patient Trending. The equipment required should have readings that are transcribable/translatable without extensive conversion, and in the same reference units. Full, on-site installation. The warranty with the equipment should be the same as that attained with new equipment. 2) An added one-year service warranty to cover all parts, labor and expenses is also requested. 3) In addition, on-site training for all operators is requested.
