Description: The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract with General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) to procure Intermediate and Depot level support of F-414 Engineering and Manufacturing Development configured engines. These engines are in use in F/A-18 aircraft at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD. The authority to permit other than full and open competition is FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or servies will satisfy agency requirements. GEAE is the designer, developer and manufacturer of the F-414 engine and the only source with the required technical expertise, and proprietary data and tooling required to meet the Government's needs.
