Description
The U.S. Army Research Development and Engineering Command, Armament Research, Development & Engineering Center (RDEC-ARDEC) is seeking sources that are capable of manufacturing Bangalore Torpedo Demolition Kits. The Bangalore Torpedo Demolition Kit is used to clear paths through minefields, barbed wire entanglements, heavy undergrowth, lightweight obstacles, underwater sand bars, coral, and other miscellaneous obstacles. The technical description for this item is identified as Demolition Kit, Bangalore Torpedo, NSN 1375009261948, DODIC 1375-M028. If additional information is needed, it may be requested from the Contract Specialist, Joshua F. Galicki at (973) 724-2754 or jgalicki@pica.army.mil. A respondent must have available the technical and support staff skills as well as the production facilities to manufacture, produce, inspect, test, and package the quantities to be required. Interested companies who feel they meet the aforementioned criteria should respond by providing this Government agency the following: ?A brief summary of the company?s technical and support staff skills. ?A brief summary of the production facilities to manufacture, produce, inspect, assemble, test and package the Bangalore Torpedo Demolition Kit. ?A brief description of related manufacturing experience. ?Estimated minimum and maximum processes. In particular, quantities for production, inspection, assembly, test, and package by process for: o A single shift, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week o 2 shifts, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week o 3 shifts, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week o 3 shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week ?Minimum Procurement Quantity (MPQ) required for production. ?Past performance information in the explosives processing industry. If a respondent does not have the adequate resources (i.e. technical, manufacturing, personnel) available, the respondent must be able to demonstrate the ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. Furthermore, the respondent must provide a brief overview of the company?s short and long-term goals to acquire the additional resources. If a respondent chooses to utilize sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, either or must have available the applicable technical and support staff skills as well as the production facilities as mentioned above. Interested parties are requested to provide information in their own format that may be of interest to the US Army in identifying potential candidates. Responses (printed material, photographs, etc.) must be less than 30 pages and be delivered to Joshua Galicki, AMSTA-AQ-APA, in Bldg. 10 Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 no later than 15 days from the date of this notice. Electronic submission to jgalicki@pica.army.mil shall be the preferred method of submission. Proprietary and/or classified information shall be protected as denoted with submission. This sources sought notice is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought notice or reimburse the costs incurred by providing the information requested under this notice.
