Mitigate Radon Levels Bldg 44 NACC General Information Document Type: P= Presolicitation Notice Solicitation Number: N62472-02-Q-6934 Posted Date: 22 Sept 2003 Response Date: 29 Sept 2003 Classification Code: 56 Set Aside: Small Business Contracting Office Address Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Engineering Field Activity, Northeast, ROICC Newport, Naval Activities Building #1, Newport, RI 02841-1712 Description The Government is seeking interested sources for a small business set aside to test for radon and install an active radon mitigation system and incidental work. This will be a firm fixed price contract. The work will be located at building #44 at the Naval Ambulatory Care Center (NACC), Newport, RI. The NAICS Code is 238990, size standard is $12 million. The estimated cost is between $25,000 -$100,000. The solicitation will be issued as a small business set-aside. The approximate solicitation release date is 29 August 2003. The completion will be 120 days after award plus a one time 8 month long term testing. The radon mitigation system shall reduce and maintain radon concentration levels below 4.0 pCi/L in the basement of bldg. 44 NACC. All tests, designs and construction of the radon mitigating system will be in accordance with EPA 402-R-93-078, EPA 402-R-92-003, EPA 402-R-92-004, EPA 625-R-92-016, EPA 625-R-93-011 and as specified within the specifications. All documents will be in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file format via the Internet. The free Acrobat Reader, required to view .pdf files can be downloaded from the Adobe website. Contractors are highly encouraged to register for the solicitation when downloading from the NAVFAC e-sol website.
