- Description
- The Senior Program Information Officer (S/PIO) assists the USAID/Caucasus Mission to achieve its strategic objectives in Georgia and Azerbaijan by producing and disseminating public information about the Mission's many activities primarily to host country governments, host country press and media, and the public at large to build support for USAID’s programs. The S/PIO has primary responsibility for deepening and broadening knowledge and understanding among Georgian and Azeri officials, the general public in the Caucasus, and American citizens at home and abroad concerning USAID programs in the region. The programs cover a wide range of topics: economic growth, democracy and governance, energy and the environment, health and social development, anti-corruption, youth, conflict prevention, and anti-trafficking. The S/PIO develops strategies, methodologies, and action plans targeted to various audiences that will result in a clearer understanding of specific activity and program goals and objectives. Once a communication strategy and plans have been approved, the S/PIO has primary responsibility for carrying them out.
