Description
The U.S. Department of the Treasury is seeking administrative and program management staff to serve as program officers for its Washington, DC-based technical assistance program. The persons selected will be hired under personal services contracts. The Office of Technical Assistance provides overseas advisors to 30 countries in five functional areas: enforcement, government debt issuance and management, budget policy, financial institutions policy, and tax policy. The person selected will work for the Financial Crimes Enforcement and Policy Administration Team, supporting programs in Africa. The Program Officer will provide administrative and project management support for intermittent and overseas resident advisors in the enforcement area and will provide general support for operations in all areas. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in international affairs or a relevant subject matter; two to five years of work experience, preferably in USG foreign assistance; project management experience; overseas experience; some foreign language capability; (French preferred) computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. Budgeting or accounting experience is desirable. US citizenship is required. SALARY: In accordance with program regulations and based on demonstrated salary history, starting salaries are negotiable from $39,597 to $74,648.
