Description

NA McAlester Army Ammunition Plant intends to enter into a sole source purchase with Instron Corporation, 100 Royall Street, Canton, MA 02021-1089 for the following: 5500 EXTEND Servo Upgrade System of existing SATEC Electromechanical Machine (Apex T1000), i ncludes upgrades of T-series, EMF, or Unidrive Machines. Upgrade system includes 5500 computer-based, automated, closed-loop digital servo control and data acquisition system; one analog channel of signal conditioning for load; jog buttons for crosshead p osition; user panel; computer interface card and cable; and, engineering services and documentation. One each for McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, McAlester, OK. Also, 5500 EXTEND Upgrade of existing Instron Tensionmeter Model 6037 to modernize test fram e with Instron's advanced 5500 digital electronics and safety standards. All old controls, recorders, and analog components are to be replaced with new digital controller, advanced signal conditioning, a user handset, limit switch assembly, emergency stop button, and optical encoder along with a Dell Model GX260 PC . One each for U.S. Defense Ammunition Center at McAlester, OK. Interest firms able to meet these requirements are invited to submit responses by September 8, 2003, but only in writing with cle ar and convincing documentation to email address: lenora.gardner@mcaap.army.mil. Responses must include, at a minimum, how the contractor proposes to meet the requirements herein. Written responses must include technical information sufficient to enable the Government to determine if the vendor can meet the Government's needs. No contract award will be made on the basis of proposals received in response to this notice. If no affirmative responses are received by September 8, 2003, clearly demonstrating a vendor's ability to meet the Government's needs, a sole source purchase order will be issued to Instron Corporation. Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be awarded DOD contracts. The internet address for registering in the CCR is http://www.ccr.gov.
