Description
The VISN 9 Acquisition Service Center (90C), is seeking sources that can provide Pest Control Training for Inspection and Principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The contractor will be required to provide instruction and materials over a consecutive two-day period (10.5 hours total instruction time, inclusive of short breaks between instructional segments) between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm on day one (with a 1.5 hour break for lunch) and 8:00 am to 12:00 am on day two. Approximately 12-36 participants will attend this training. This training will be conducted at the Lexington VA Medical Center, Leestown Division, 2250 Leestown Road, Lexington, KY 40511-1093. The contractor and the Lexington VA Medical Center will mutually agree upon the consecutive two-day training period to be held during the month of October 2003. The training shall be scheduled within 10 days after award of the contract. This training shall be designed for a diverse group of participants (some with considerable pest control training and practice and some with very little). The focus of this training will include five broad areas, emphasizing pests that are common to health care environments (e.g., hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, food service areas, etc.): Principles of Integrated Pest Management, Inspection Techniques, Pest Identification, Interventions, and Working with your pest control contractor. The instructor shall be educated in entomology at the Ph.D. level, familiar with current research, as well as the latest theories and techniques of current pest control practice. All sources should be capable of providing all materials and training as outlined in the announcement. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT REQUEST ONLY. This is NOT a Request for Quotations.
