- This is a notice that the VA Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio, intends to negotiate sole source with Midwest Medical Equipment to provide components for the Lionville Model 800 Series Medication Carts. Components shall be a follow on to task order placed against contract number V797P-4055a. The components are a part of a larger system, and are composed of the following: retractable power cord, outlet strip and LockAlert recharge jack -38 ea; Mini waste/scanner bin (800) -38 ea; swing arm, pivoting w/PC tray (side mount) - 38 ea; custom laptop security plate - 38 ea; handles, black anodized, 2/set - 38 ea., and installation and training for each new Medication Cart. The Government believes that only the original source can reasonably provide the components, installation, and training to satisfy the agency requirements and intends to negotiate with only that source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(B). Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by September 9, 2003. Such capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. No solicitation will be made available and all information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government Contracting Officer. All inquiries must be submitted in writing via fax to the attention of the Contracting Officer at 937-262-5974. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. Failure to respond to this notice by September 9, 2003 shall confirm the Government?s belief that only once source can meet its needs. See numbered note 22.
