Description

The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Department of Justice intends to issue a solicitation for a Small Business Contractor to provide mobile x-ray services for federal prisoners incarcerated at the following facilities in the Western District of Texas; Bastrop County Jail, Bell County Jail, Caldwell County Jail, Crystal City Detention Facility, Maverick County Tom Bowles Detention Center, Val Verde County Detention , Zavala County Jail , Kinney County Jail. Contractor is required to perform x-ray, as required, on site, no later than 24 hours after verbal request. X-rays must be interpreted by a licensed radiologist. Radiologist interpretation reports to be received at the jail facility within 72 hours after services have been performed. The Contractor is required to have current licenses from the Texas Department of Health and Health Care Finance Administration or possess equivalent licenses from another state. Radiation Safety Officer must be appointed and be available for discussion if necessary. The period of performance of the contract will be for an initial base year with one year option. Actual quantities are unknown, Government estimate is 700, but may be higher or lower. Contractor may not be an employee of the USMS or of the United States. In all respects, contractor is an independent contractor, as are any of his authorized subcontractors or employees. The solicitation will be distributed through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. on September 9, 2003. All small responsible sources are encouraged to respond to the solicitation. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to date information.
