- Project Title: 2-Channel Adacel MaxSim Scenario Development and Preview Station Point of Contact: Kenneth W. Hitchens, (609) 485-6125 Description of Requirement: The FAA, William J. Hughes Technical Center Tower Integration Group, ACB-340, which provides a platform to support and evaluate the interior design and layout, site selection, orientation, height determination studies along with transition of equipment into the ATCT environment requires a Adacel MaxSim scenario development and preview station to carry out its mission. The equipment must be compatible with the current Adacel MaxSim system already being used by the organization. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (FAAAMS) paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. The FAA, William J. Hughes Technical Center intends to award a single contract to Adacel System, Inc., Orlando, FL to acquire this equipment. As the only source available in which the FAA has already acquired equipment from and therefore for reasons of compatibility the only product that can be used in a scenario and development system cannot be obtained through any other known source, Adacel System, Inc., brings the following essential data, experience and capabilities to this program: a. As the Original manufacturer of the system which is a proprietary product to this company. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. If your firm does not agree with this single source determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capabilities and experience in providing the above service, the FAA will evaluate this accordingly.
