Description

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to acquire through rental (2) Gem Premier 3000 and (2) Gem OPL Co-Oximeter analyzers, (34) cartridges, (72) controls and other related supplies and consumables from Instrumentation Laboratory Company in support of the Naval Hospital Great Lakes, Illinois. The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is a synopsis for commercial supplies prepared in accordance with the information in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used under the test program for commercial items found at FAR 13.5. The RFQ number will be N00140-03-Q-3785. All responsible sources may submit a quote that shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS code is 334516 and the Small Business Standard is 500 employees. A firm fixed price order is anticipated for1 October 2003 through 30 September 2004, with two (2) one year option periods. The Request for Quotation may require the submission of cost/price and technical information.
