Description
The U.S. Department of State intends to award a sole source task order to Sytel, Inc., 6430 Rockledge Drive, Suite 400, Bethesda, Maryland. Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security has a requirement for ADP support services to operate the Bureau?s two ADP Centers (one classified and one unclassified), satellite centers, and on an as needed basis at overseas locations. Top Secret/SCI clearances are required to operate the ADP Centers. The Office of the Chief Technology Officer is currently in the process of moving staff from various State annexes into one main location in the Northern Virginia area. The move encompasses a shifting of 1,200 employees and a migration of automatic data processing operations from one central location to the other. The contractor is currently responsible for maintaining two 24X7 data centers until all moves are completed. In order to effectively support all operations it is essential that all services remain uninterrupted in order to mitigate the negative consequences on the Department?s ability to carry out its mission locally and overseas. This synopsis should not be construed as a request for a competitive quote. The task order will be issued against a GSA schedule and awarded to Sytel, Inc. The period of performance for this task order will be for one year, which will begin on September 29, 2003. In order to effectively support the Bureau in its mission, sensitive nature of the move that which requires two data centers, and the clearance level required, this task order will be against Sytel?s GSA schedule in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and 41 USC 253(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this one-year requirement no later than 2:30 p.m. EDT on September 6, 2003. Although, it is anticipated that the U.S. Department of State will solicit competition in about 8 months to fulfill this requirement for a base and four option years which will allow time for preparation of a performance based work statement and clearance of personnel. E-mail or fax your interest and capability to CareyDA@state.gov or (703)875-6085.
