This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a writtren solicitation will not be issued. This is an Request for Quotation. This project will include furnishing and installing: upgraded data and video displays (projectors and monitors), front projection screens, control systems (multimedia lecterns and presentation systems), loudspeaker system, and IR wireless microphone. Additionally, a document camera system will be incorporated into the new presentation systems. Each classroom should be surveyed and a bill of materials and associated costs prepared by classroom (e.g., not every classroom needs a new projector). Existing Classroom Infrastructure: The DSTC is located in Cedar Hill Office Park at the intersection of Gallows Road and Cedar Lane in Dunn Loring, Virginia, approximately 10 miles from Washington D.C.. The Center is a 4-level glass and concrete commercial office building with a central three-level atrium. The DSTC has a total of 10 classrooms. Each classroom currently has a ceiling mounted front projector, dedicated computer, and front projection screen. Specific Work Requirements: 1. The multimedia lecterns should be no less than 40?w x 32?d x 48?h and should include: framing for CPU tower, LCD monitor well or cut out, 6 outlet strip, electrical inlet on presenter?s right, ventilation fan on presenter?s right, high intensity dimmable gooseneck light, keyboard/mouse drawer, pull out side drawer (27?w x 273/8?d x 8?h), 3.5? full recessed casters, flat work surface, rack rail in lower section (11 spaces), and flip-up down side shelf. 2. The visual presenters should include: minimum 360,000 pixels, shooting area 320x240mm max, NTSC television compatible, rotating head, 8x powered zoom function, s-video, color/B&W selection with additional features such as composite and S-VHS (Y/C) outputs along with a passive video selector controller for 2 other external video sources, upper and base fluorescent lighting, auto focus, remote control capability. 3. Projectors should include: XGA, Resolution NLT 1024x768, brightness NLT 2600 lumens, ceiling mountable. 4. Screens should be electric, ceiling recessed, front projection, matte white, 2 format, 100? (min). 5. Sound Systems should include controller and grid ceiling mount loudspeakers. 6. Infrared Wireless Microphone Systems should have 100-foot range, dual channel operation, built-in rechargeable batteries, charging stand, freedom from RF interference. 7. Survey existing classrooms (First Floor: 130, 140, 150, 170. Second Floor: 240, 260, 270, 210, 208, 220). Rooms 208, 260 and 270 will not require sound systems or IR microphones. 8. Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) broken down by classroom. Proposal package must have manufacture?s documents for our review. 9. Recommend electrical infrastructure upgrades needed prior to installation of new equipment (prewiring, etc). 10. Delivery/Furnish and Fabrication/Installation approved BOM. Testing and acceptance.
