Description

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) through its Office of Native American Affairs is implementing a new Native American initiative that will provide small business opportunities and economic development services to this country's most disadvantaged tribal areas. Accordingly, the SBA seeks qualified small business concerns to propose economic development projects that will empower Native American entrepreneurs located in disadvantaged and under-served Indian reservations and tribal areas. SBA will make award based on the project(s)' ability to provide increased entrepreneurial development opportunities, and other criteria as set forth in the statement of work. Selected projects must have the potential to become "best practices" for implementation by other entities around the U.S. They must also include viable plans for identifying alternate funding options so that successful projects can continue without further SBA funding. The total amount budgeted for this effort is $682,300. Selection of projects for award may involve partial and/or multiple awards. This requirement is a 100% set aside for small business concerns. NAICS Code 541690, "other scientific and technical (economic) consulting services" applies, with a size standard of $6 million. The solicitation document is in final preparation and will be posted in Fedbizopps within 5 business days. The proposal due date will be specified at that time.
