- This is a combined synopsis/Request For Quote (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written RFQ will not be issued. The RFQ, N00173-03-Q- 6008 , is issued as a RFQ. The RFQ document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 2001-15 and DFARS Change Notice 20030722. The associated NAICS code is 334112 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. NRL has a requirement for RAID expansion disks and enclosures to expand existing data volume of RAID. Compatibility with existing hardware is required. All items must be brand name or equal. The required items are manufactured by LSI Manufacturing: CLIN 0001: Part Number-DS4000J: 2 each, Datashield Profibre DF4000 15 Bay 2GB Fibre JBOD Expansion; CLIN 0002: Part Number-DS73GB10K: 30 each, 73 GB 10K RPM FC Hard Drive Includes Drive Carrier; CLIN 0003: Part Number-DS2GBIC: 4 each, SFP GBIC; CLIN 0004: Part Number-DS2MFCAB-LC: 4 each, 1 Meter LC to LC 2GB Multimode Optical FC Cable; CLIN 0005: Part Number-DS-4000J-01: 2 each, Parts Replacement only. Next Business Day for the DS4000J, 1 year All items will be integrated with NRL?s existing DS4000R RAID system. The contractor shall offer the Government the same warranty terms offered to the general public under customary commercial practices. The warranty period shall begin upon acceptance of all supplies. Delivery and acceptance is at NRLSSC, Stennis Space Center, MS, 39529, FOB Destination. Delivery shall be no later than thirty (30) days from date of award. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this RFQ to that responsible offeror proposing the lowest price for the items that have been determined to comply with the requirements of the RFQ. The quote must demonstrate an understanding of the requirement and the ability to meet the specifications. The DFARs clause at 252.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. All EIT supplies and services provided under any resultant contract must comply with the applicable accessibility standards issued by the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board at 36 CFR part 1194 (see FAR Subpart 39.2). Electronic and information technology (EIT) is defined at FAR 2.101. Any resultant contract will be DO Rated under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS). The Contract Specialist must receive any questions no later than 5 calendar days before the closing date of this solicitation. An original and two copies of the offeror?s proposal shall be received on or before 3:00 P.M. local time, 20 August 2003, at the Naval Research Laboratory-SSC, Attn: Contracting Officer, Bldg. 1007, Room 47, Stennis Space Center, MS 39529-5004.
