- Description
- The University of California, which operates the Los Alamos National Laboratory under contract to the Department of Energy, solicits companies interested in collaborating with Los Alamos National Laboratory in a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), sponsored research arrangement and/or to obtain an exclusive or nonexclusive license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market in oil and gas applications, a new reflective modulation communication technology (INFICOMM), hereinafter referred to as "Technology". The Technology is the subject of US Patent, US Patent Applications and invention disclosures: ? US Patent 6,434,372, entitled Long Range, Full Duplex, Modulated Reflector Cell Phone For Voice/Date Transmission, issued August 13, 2002, University Reference No. S 94,600; ? US Patent Application 10/187,025, entitled Modulated Reflectance For DownHole Telemetry, filed June 28, 2002, University Reference No. S 99,908; ? Invention Disclosure entitled: ID Coding Schemes For Modulated Reflectance Systems, disclosed March 12, 2003, University Reference No. S 100587; ? Invention Disclosure entitled: Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) Signaling For Modulated Reflector Technology, disclosed March 12, 2003, University Reference No. S 100,588; and ? Invention Disclosure entitled" RF Transmission Line and Drill/Pipe String Switching Technology For Down Hole Telemetry, disclosed August 28, 2003, University Reference No. LAD 2003 075. Any organization interested in licensing Technology or in partnering with Los Alamos National Laboratory to develop the Technology for oil and gas application(s) must respond with a Letter of Interest. The Letter of Interest shall include a summary of the motivation for pursuing this opportunity. The Letter of Interest is requested by August 25, 2003. Following the execution of a Nondisclosure Agreement, respondents will be provided with technical data that will enable them to evaluate the technology. Respondents that wish to enter into negotiations for a commercial license will be required to submit a business plan or commercialization plan prior to selection and negotiations. .
