Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Materials, Science, and Engineering Laboratory, has a requirement for a new, expandable, electronic based control system for regulating the temperature of the steam feed to the drying system and size supply of a vacuum former/cylinder paper machine located at NIST, Gaithersburg, MD (Room A267, Building231). The contractor shall also provide equipment utilizing Radar technology to measure liquid levels in the two paper stock chests feeding the paper machine and incorporate these measurements into the new control system. ***The period of performance shall be 24 weeks from the date of award. FOB shall be DESTINATION, Gaithersburg, MD. ***This requirement is being procured using full & open competition. ***The NAICS code for this requirement is 333291 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. ***The competitive Request for Quotation (RFQ), specifications, RFQ amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at HTTP://WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV under RFQ number SB1341-03-Q-0758. ***The RFQ is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about August 11, 2003, and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. ***Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFQ in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. No written solicitation document is available, telephone requests shall not be honored, and no bidders list shall be maintained.
