- NA US Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, intends to procure services of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment and performing all work in strict accordance with the contract specifications and schedules forming parts there of for re pairing and modifying the U.S. Surveyboat FLORIDA, principal dimensions and physical data of which are as follows. Length, overall 64 feet 11 inches, Beam, molded 18 feet 2 inches, Displacement, Long Tons (2,240 lbs) 71, Draft, light 5 feet 0 inches (appr ox), Material of haul and house Aluminum (type 5086). Repairs will consists of, but not be limited to, such items as drydocking, sandblasting and/or mechanical cleaning of exterior surfaces of hull, struts, rudders, and other appurtenances: renewal of zin c anodes on hull; application of a barrier coat and hull painting; barrier coat thickness inspection; removal of propellers, shafts, rudders, etc., for inspection; renewal of an indeterminate amount of aluminum plate and shapes on an as needed basis; joint preparations and electric welding in an indeterminate amount on an as needed basis; vessel inspection using U.S. Coast Guard guidelines. Replacement of two each 12v71t Detroit Diesels engines & transmissions with two series 60 marine specification model No. 6062HK02, HK03 with reverse/reduction gear. Replacement of all windows seals; and performing other repairs as specified to various items of machinery, equipment, outfitting, etc. aboard the vessel. The vessel will be made available on or about 24 Dec ember 2003 not to exceed 60 calendar days. This 60-day period will include travel time from Jacksonville, FL. to the shipyard, and travel time from the shipyard to Jacksonville, FL. at the rate of 150 miles per day. A firm-fixed price commercial item con tract is considered for this acquisition. Solicitation is unrestricted, therefore all businesses are invited to respond.
