Description
This work scope is for remedial action of waste sites within the 100-BC-1 and 100-BC-2 Operable Units (OU) at the Hanford Site, Washington State. Burial grounds are solid waste landfills associated with nuclear reactor operations and maintenance. Remaining sites include pipelines, tanks and other types of facilities. Scope includes 1) engineering services to support preparation of ??issued for construction?? (IFC) drawings to locate and 2) detail the waste sites, structures that may impact excavation activities, proposed support areas (e.g., laydown areas, support facilities, air monitors), 3) engineering support during field activities and 4) waste site remediation and associated grading. This work scope includes furnishing all necessary facilities, equipment, labor, materials, supplies, and tools to perform all operations necessary to excavate and stockpile clean material, and excavate, sort, stage, size reduce as necessary, containerize, load, and transport contaminated materials from sites within the 100-BC-1 and 100-BC-2 OUs. This includes container tarping and maintenance, associated transportation of uncontaminated and contaminated materials, and storage of clean materials and materials requiring treatment. A wide range of chemically and/or radiologically contaminated soil, debris, and structures may be encountered during remedial action activities. Personal protection levels D, C, and B (per 29 CFR 1910.120 Appendix B) are anticipated. In general, the work scope for these sites includes the following: ?h Design ?h Mobilization, Submittals, Training ?h Excavation, Material Handling, and Waste Site Grading ?h Demobilization and Equipment Decontamination, as necessary Subcontract package(s) are planned with estimated values of between $10 and $30 million.
