Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under FAR 13.106-1(b), with Dr. Davis Watson, of Cambridgeshire,ENGLAND,UK to acquire professional services in the support of Data Evaluation; and update for the NIST Crystallographic Data Center Crystal Structure Database. Dr. Watson is a chemical crystallographer with over 35 years of experieince, working for Cambridge Crystallographic Data Center (CCDC). The period of performance will be for a period of 1 year with 1 option year. Because of his expertise and previous collaboration with NIST, Dr. Watson is uniquely qualified to provide this service. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 541990, and the size standard is $6.0 million. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive qoutations. However, responses received by August 8, 2003, will be considered by the Government. Information received will normaly be considered solely for the purpose of determinig whether to conduct a competiive procurement. See numbered note 26.
