- Description
- The Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic (MLCLANT), Norfolk, VA is issuing a solicitation for the purchase of high efficiency standard radiobeacon antennas for installation at various U.S. Coast Guard sites in the Atlantic and Pacific Region. The high efficiency standard radiobeacon antennas are used to radiate low and medium frequency radiobeacon aids to navigation signals in the 285 to 325 Khz band, which facilitates aids to navigation for the U.S. Armed Forces, maritime commerce, and air commerce. The standard system maintenance effort being conducted by U.S. Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command Atlantic. The antenna must be essentially Maintenance free, easily erected, and withstand the harshest of environments expected at any site located within the United States and its territories, and has a life expectancy of 30 years. The Specification of the High efficiency Standard Radiobeacon Antenna System shall meet or exceed the following: Frequency Range: 285 to 325 khz, MF Marine Band. Antenna Resistance: 2 to 30 ohms, which is the range of the antenna tuning unit. Antenna Capacitance: Compatible with the following Southern Avionics Corporation equipment a. The Differential GPS transmitter has carrier power adjustable from 50 watts to 1000 watts. The transmitter uses switching technology in the power amplifiers and modulator/regulator modules resulting in highly efficient systems. The exciter portion consists of an interface for a 283.5 to 325 Khz input signal 0 ? 15dBm and monitor circuit. The power portion of each transmitter consists of two independent 500-watt systems. Each system has an output filter, switching power amplifier, and switching modulator/regulator. The RF output of each system is combined to provide a 1000-watt signal to the coupler. The SC1000 USCG Dual consists of two independent SC1000 USCG transmitters, an Automatic Transfer Unit/RSIM Controller, and a DC to AC inverter housed in a signal cabinet. b. Specifications: SC1000 USCG The period of performance under the resulting contract will be for a base year from 01 October 2003 plus 4 option years. The type of contract will be a Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type a contract with option to order additional quantities with commercial provisions IAW FAR Part 12 a written solicitation will be issued, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The Request for Quote (RFQ) number is DTCG-84-03-Q-AAT107, and is being conducted as FULL AND OPEN utilizing the procedures of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 13 (test program).
