Description
The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences intends to contract for the maintenance and repair for the heating and cooling system of a diving pool (known as the ?Navy Dive Tank?) at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The contract will be for a period of one year, starting on or about August 11, 2003. The government shall have the option to extend the contract for up to two additional one-year periods. The Contractor will provide customer support, technical support, application support, and operational assistance and training to Government personnel on an as needed basis. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, transportation and management necessary to maintain and repair all equipment covered by the contract. Equipment included under this contract will include the following: 1 York Model VCW2-33JJO-46 Reciprocating Chiller; 1 Baltimore Air Coil VXT Series Cooling Tower with motorized makeup water fill and 3 kW Electric Resistance Basin Heater; 1 Taco chilled/hot water pump and variable frequency speed drive controller; 1-taco glycol pump and tank assembly; 1 Taco condenser water pump; 1 heat exchanger; 1 steam to water converter; 2 exhaust fans and associated pneumatic motor operated dampers; automatic temperature control (ATC) system for diving tank temperature control, including pneumatic air compressor, refrigerant drier and control valves (this does not include Direct Digital Control System). At the beginning of each cooling season, contractor will provide all necessary labor to start air conditioning equipment, and check for proper operation. This service will only need to be performed once per contract year. The contractor shall perform an inspection monthly of all included equipment while the system is in operation. The contractor shall respond to a service calls, for either preventive maintenance service or emergency repair service) within 48 working hours of the telephone request from the Government. The Government's normal working hours at the site are Monday through Friday, Federal holidays excluded, 7:30 a.m. (0730 hours) to 4:00 p.m. (1600 hours).
