- Description
- NA The purpose of this modification is to respond to questions received prior to the Q&A cut-off. The solicitation response date / closing date and time have not changed. QUESTION: In Answer 2 of your July 23rd Modification 1 it was stated ??????The software will be installed on the Lotus Domino Server only??????. Our understanding of the requirement is to be able to manage a number of passwords, including those involving the Lotus suite of products. The solicitation makes no reference as to what type of server or system the solution must run on. It seems to us that specifying that it must run on a Lotus server is overly specific and may preclude the government obtaining the best solution. A strong argument in terms of security and/or reliability can be made for running a password management system on a different server. The only real requirement is that it can reliably manage a Lotus environment. ANSWER: The solicitation specifically states for the product must be ran on a Lotus Domino Server. No exceptions. QUESTION: In modification 1, the answer to question 3 states that technical setup and installation is to be included as part of the proposal. In order to include setup and installation, please provide a statement of work that details this requirement. F or example; where is the work to be performed, at are the hardware platforms and operating systems (both target and server) that require software to be loaded, what is the timeline for performance, are personnel clearances required, what is the criteria fo r sign-off on completion of work, etc. ANSWER: Work is to be performed in Arlington, VA. Hardware Platform: Dell Server w/Lotus Domino 5.011 installed. NTE 1 day install & configuration. (Negoitable) No clearances required. Sign-off of work will be completed upon verification that the installed software passes the functionality test of the features requested. QUESTION: What versions of Lotus Domino, iNotes and IBM Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing (Sametime) and Team WorkPlace (QuickPlace) are deployed at your organization? ANSWER: Lotus Domino ver. 5.011 ; INotes - not using ; Sametimes ver. 3.0 SP1 ; QuickPlace - not using QUESTION: On the server side, what operating system and versions are employed by these software solutions (Lotus Domino, iNotes,Sametime, and Quickplace)? ANSWER: Windows 2000 Advanced Server QUESTION: In Requirement #5a of the RFP, it is stated that the solution must ??????Synchronizes multiple passwords: allow user to synchronize HTTP, NT and LDAP passwords and Notes ID File??????. For LDAP, is an LDAP-compliant directory server already deployed, in addition to any existing Lotus Domino directory servers? IF so, what type of LDAP servers have you deployed throughout the organization? ANSWER: Using Domino LDAP QUESTION: In Requirement #5b, it is stated that the solution must provide ??????Plug-ins for Sametime Connect authentication & Domino LDAP authentication.?????? Since a plug-in is a module installed within the browser on the local client computer, this r equirement contradicts the earlier statement that the solution must ??????Requires no client-side software??????. Please clarify. ANSWER: No plug-in QUESTION: In Requirement #5u, it is stated that the solution must ??????Enables self-registration: allows end-users to create their own user accounts without administrator involvement.?????? IS this self-registration requirement specific to just Lotus Do mino, or is it meant to permit the user to create all of their own user accounts across all of the required software systems listed earlier in the RFP (HTTP, NT and LDAP and Notes/Domino)? If this is the case, this requirement alone seems to provide an in herent security risk and should be re-evaluated as a ??????true?????? requirment. ANSWER: Just in Lotus Notes QUESTION: Has your organization performed a market survey of the existing COTS produc ts readily available to provide this solution, and if so, what are the results of that market survey? ANSWER: The results of the Government??????s market research are not relevant QUESTION: Because the solution is web centric what is the web server that will be used. ANSWER: IIS QUESTION: The requirements list a need to recover passwords without Administrative help. Is the proposed system required to store passwords so that managed systems can be reconstructed in the event of failure - such as their internal registries failing. ANSWER: This feature will need to give the user the ability to obtain their password via ??????challenge and answer?????? method or by the user supplying their email address registered with the password database. QUESTION: What is the geographical dispersion of clients and servers. Different approaches might be taken to solutions that require the use of WANS rather thanLANS. This also leads to the question of what is the reliability of the network the solution wi ll operate over. ANSWER: This is not a relevant question. We want a solution that integrates with Lotus Domino servers. QUESTION: We would like to know are these web based applications, client server applications, or both? ANSWER: We are looking for a server side solution that integrates with Lotus Domino and that would require the client to have access to a browser (Microsoft IE 5.0). QUESTION: Item # 3 of things that the 'Password Management Tool' 'MUST DO' reads; ??????Requires no client-side software??????. We find this statement to be somewhat ambiguous. Does this mean that once the Password Management Tool is in place, the clien t 'Defense Contracting Command-Washington (DCC-W)' has a requirement involving not having any software to utilize the Password Management Tool 'OR' does it mean that 'Defense Contracting Command-Washington (DCC-W)' won't accept a Passord Management Tool th at is 'installed' from vendor software? ANSWER: The software will be installed on the Lotus Domino Server only. There will be no installation of software required on the client PCs. QUESTION: While the combined solicitation does mention a potential requirement of 12,500 seats, it does not mention any possible ordering/delivery schedule. The combined solicitation also leaves open the area of technical set-up/installation. Is this no t to be part of the Technical Proposal or the Cost Proposal? ANSWER: The 12500 licenses will be included with the installation of the server side software - no separate delivery date. Technical setup and installation should be included in the contract.
