Description
Bechtel Savannah River Inc. (BSRI) is the Construction Management Contractor for the United States Department of Energy at the Savannah River Site (SRS) located near Aiken, SC. BSRI is seeking prospective subcontractors interested in providing labor, material, supervision, and services required to perform the scopes listed below. Any subsequent subcontract award will be made on a Firm Fixed Price basis. Prospective subcontractors are requested to identify their interest by contacting Mr. Gary P. Elrod at (803) 952-9823, or electronically at gary.elrod@srs.gov no later than August 29, 2003. Prospective subcontractors must be prepared to provide the following information: (1) project experience, (2) a list of projects similar in scope and complexity, and (3) name, address, phone no., e-mail address and fax numbers of client references. Responsibility checks will be made to include, but not limited to: 1) safety performance, 2) financial capability, and 3) references. This is a request to solicit interested parties. This is not a Request for Proposal. Issuance of the Request for Proposals will be conducted at a future date. D Area Excavate approximately 65,000 to 130,000 cubic yards of chemically contaminated soil (coal rejects, industrial debris, wallboard material)from D-Rubble Pit, dead vegetation, berm and drainage areas; consolidate into 488-D Ash Basin, backfill with approximately 143,000 cubic yards common fill and topsoil, followed by installation of geosynthetic cap (26-28 acres). Forecast award late 2004 to early 2005. General Separations Area Consolidation Unit Excavate approximately 45,000 cubic yards of radioactive materials and relocate within the boundary of Savannah River Site, backfill with approximately 281,000 cubic yards of common fill, structural fill and topsoil, provide drainage work and install a geosynthetic cap (approximately 80 acres). Forecast award early 2004. TNX Operable Units Excavate, package and ship approximately 4,000 cubic yards of radioactive materials to an offsite disposal facility, backfill the New TNX Basin with approximately 11,000 cubic yards of common fill and topsoil, Backfill the Old TNX Basin with approximately 4,000 cubic yards of common and structural fill and install a geosynthetic cap ( approximately 3 acres). Forecast award in the fall of 2004
