Description

THIS MODIFICATION IS TO CANCEL THIS PRESOLICITATION NOTICE. The Midwest Area for the Agricultural Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture intends to issue an award to LI-COR Biosciences, 4308 Progressive Avenue, PO 4000, Lincoln, NE 68504. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This machine is needed to conduct routine amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) analyses on DNA samples to support the research mission of USDFRC. LI-COR makes the only DNA analyzer capable of generating AFLP analyses with a two-dye and non-capillary system. USDFRC requires one (01) Model 4300S NEN DNA Analyzer; one (01) 4200-119 AFLP Server Application Package; and one (01) Standard Read Sequencing Application Package including the standard accessory package of the following: One Ethernet Hub (120 volt), One Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS, 120 volt), One Apparatus Buffer Tank Kit, One Gel Casting Stand, One Gel Plate Drying Rack, and One Start-up Gel Kit. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Interested parties should submit written responses including prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the entire requirement and must be received in this office within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. It should be noted that no contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available. If no affirmative written responses are received, negotiations will be held with LI-COR Biosciences without further notice. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
