- Description
- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for radiation tolerant programmable gate arrays with the following nomenclature and quantities: Field Programmable Gate Array (32,000 Gates), Standard Military Drawing #5962-0150804QYC, Quantity 56 Field Programmable Gate Array (72,000 Gates), Standard Military Drawing #5962-0151504QYC, Quantity 64 NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Actel Corporation who is the only known source available who can meet agency requirements. These components are required in support of the Geosynchronous Infrared Fourier Transform Spectrometer (GIFTS) project which is ongoing at Langley Research Center. Linear circuits from other sources are not acceptable because they must have Single Event Upset (SEU) protection circuitry and be radiation tolerant for space flight. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 7, 2003. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B". Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs linked below.
