Description
The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD), Cancer Diagnosis Program (CDP) plans to procure Invitrogen Kits Reagents from Invitrogen, 3175 Staley Road, Grand Island, NY 14072. The CDP is supporting a confirmation study of promising molecular profiles in stage I lung adenocarcinomas. The study of 600 new Stage I lung adenocarcinomas will be carried out at four academic analytical sites, University of Michigan Medical School, Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute, Moffitt Cancer Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The kits and reagents from Invitrogen are for the initial stages of sample preparation prior to analysis on the Affymetrix Gene Chip System. It was selected because it is currently being used at all sites and they are familiar with the quality of the cDNA generated using the kit and because it gives the most consistent and reproducible data. The reagent requested is supplied specifically for use with microarray experiments. Although it is available from other vendors, the Invitrogen product was used in the initial study. Use of the requested kit and reagent will insure that the variability in the data is minimized. This item is commercial as defined in FAR Part 2, and this acquisition is being made in accordance with the test program using simplified procedures for certain commercial items as authorized in FAR 13.5. This is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities.
