Description

The principle components of the work under this specification consist of: a) removing unsuitable material from the foundation of the dike; b) constructing a coffer dike using designated materials and compaction specs; c) placing riprap, coarse gravel and a Geotextile filter fabric on the overflow section of the dike; d) constructing a temporary access ramp on either side of the spillway and a permanent access ramp to the west of the coffer dike; and e) seeding all disturbed areas. The work is situated approximately one mile southwest of Kirwin, Kansas, in Phillips County. The contract is to be completed 60 days after receipt of award. Request for Quotation Packages are anticipated to be available on August 15, 2003. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation. Prospective quoters desiring to visit the site should contact Mr. Terry Seitz, Supervisory, Civil Engineer, at (308) 345-4400. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 237990. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is Y219. Requests for the Request for Quotations (RFQ) should be faxed to the attention of Hart Black Eagle or Beverly Beckman at (406) 247-7798.
