Description

The NIH Library intends to procure on a sole source basis to Nature America, Inc. for electronic subscription to (28) Nature journal titles and Nature Materials. Specifically, the contractor shall provide internet access to the following titles: Nature Materials; British Dental Journal; British Journal of Cancer; British Journal of Pharmacology; Bone Marrow Transplantation; Cancer Gene Therapy; Cell Death & Differentiation; Dentomaxillofacial Radiology; European Journal of Clinical Nutrition; European Journal of Human Genetics; European Molecular Biology Organization Reports; Evidence-Based Dentistry; Eye; Genes & Immunity; Gene Therapy; The Hematology Journal; Heredity; International Journal of Impotence Research; International Journal of Obesity; Journal of Exposure Analysis & Environmental Epidemiology; Journal of Human Hypertension; Journal of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology; Journal of Perinatology; Leukemia; Microcirculation; Molecular Psychiatry; Neoplasia; Neuropsychopharmacology; Oncogene; The Pharmacogenomics Journal; Prostrate Cancer & Prostatic Diseases; Public Health; Spinal Cord. The period of performance or subscription will be from June 1, 2003 to December 31, 2004. Nature America, Inc. provides the only legal source for internet access to these journal titles which are copyrighted works. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System code 511120 with a size standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product/service. All capability statements received within (15) days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See Numbered Note 22.
