- This acquisition is for information technology support services located at 26 DOE sites in the Washington, DC. metropolitan area (Virginia, D.C. and Maryland) and nationwide at numerous field offices. The number of Federal employees performing the activity is approximately 420; additionally a potential 1,500-2,000 current contractor employees are included. DOE organizations involved in the Washington DC metropolitan area include the Office of Management, Budget and Evaluation/Chief Financial Officer; Chief Information Officer; Office of Security; Economic Impact and Diversity; Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy; Environment, Safety and Health; Energy Information Administration; Environmental Management; General Counsel; Fossil Energy; Hearings and Appeals; Inspector General; Nuclear Energy, Science and Technology; Oversight and Performance Assurance; Civilian Radioactive Waste Management; Office of Science; Worker and Community Transition; and the National Nuclear Security Administration. DOE field offices involved include the following Operations Offices: Albuquerque NM; Chicago IL; Golden CO; Idaho, ID; Nevada, NV; Oakland CA; Ohio, OH; Oak Ridge, TN; Rocky Flats CO; Richland WA; and Savannah River, SC. Other DOE field organizations involved include Albany Research Center, OR; National Energy Technology Laboratory, PA, WV; Office of River Protection, WA; Office of Scientific and Technical Information, TN; Pittsburgh Naval Reactors, PA, WV; Schenectady Naval Reactors Office, NY; Strategic Petroleum Reserve Office, LA; and the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant, TN. This announcement is to advise the public that DOE will be issuing a solicitation for the subject services and is NOT a request for submission of proposals from private sector providers. The projected end date for the study will be December 2004. The Competitive Sourcing Official (CSO) is Mr. James Campbell. The Contracting Officer is Mr. Patrick A. Thornton.
