Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division Lakehurst, intends to procure a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Bench Top Magnetic Particle Unit (MPU) and associated technical and logistics support data and training necessary to support the unit in the field. The unit will be used to inspect the ferromagnetic parts of navy aircraft and support equipment onboard the fleet's aircraft carriers. The unit shall be a bench top system (P/N 69360 or equivalent) compatible to the Navy's current power supply unit (P/N 1668AS100-1) to deliver magnetizing current to the unit. The required basic quantity is 1 pre-production bench top MPU and 12 production bench top MPU, along with requirements for technical and logistics data in accordance with Contract Data Requirements Lists, DD Form 1423. The unit shall include: fixed headstock; movable clamping tailstock; maximum length of inspected part is 39 inches +/-2 inches; maximum supported weight of inspected part is 350 lbs.; 5-turn 11" +/-1'diameter coil; and an inspection fluid recirculating recovery system. The unit shall be constructed of steel with sides and basin bolted for disassembly and transport. A common rail will mount the head/tailstock and coil along the table length. The bench top maximum floor space is 2' x 4 1/2', maximum table height is 36". The following accessories shall be included: 100ml centrifuge tube and stand; 1 lbs. can of fluorescent magnetic particle concentrate; a pocket size residual field indicator, 18" long copper central conductor 1' in diameter; a small parts adaptor for the head/tailstock; a set of Quantitative Quality Indicators (QQI); and a set of copper braid pads for the head/tailstock. The Government is anticipating a Firm Fixed Price type contract. Packaging and Marking for shipping shall be in accordance with best commercial practices. Delivery shall be FOB Origin. The solicitation will be posted on the NAVAIR homepage located at http:// www.navair.navy.mil. Select "Business" then "Doing Business With Us" and "Open Solicitations." Hard copies of the solicitation and amendments will NOT be mailed to the contractors. The government will not accept electronic proposals.
