Description

Commissary Renovations (AD/ALT Commissary) and Repair Commissary Roof at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. Work includes but is not limited to the following: Provide new freezer and cooler walk-in area. Provide new combined bakery/delicatessen area in former bakery area including new flooring, new suspended ceiling, new bakery/deli equipment and lighting systems. Provide additional produce area in former delicatessen area including new flooring, suspended ceiling and equipment. Provide new dry shelving and new display cases in sales area. Provide new finishes in sales area including new flooring, painting of walls and ceiling panels. Provide new ceiling lighting in sales area. Provide new doors and crash bars. Provide new interior d?cor specialties including aisle directories, slotboards, and banners in sales area. Relocate existing freezer and cooler equipment. Provide testing and balancing of all new equipment and any altered existing equipment. Provide all necessary labor, appliances, and equipment, and materials for the installation of the equipment mentioned above, including all wall and floor openings and penetrations, fire stopping, construction of new wall partitions and the demolition and removal of debris as indicated or required for the installation of the new work. Furnish and install all electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire suppression, and distribution systems including telephone lines and equipment. Phasing overall construction work will be required through the duration of the project to allow for full operation of the commissary. The work also includes the repair of the existing built-up roofing system and the replacement of the skylight system. The performance period is approximately 360 calendar days. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Performance Price Tradeoffs (PPT) procedures will be utilized for this procurement. The North American Industry Classification System code assigned to this acquisition is 233320. This requirement is restricted to mainland Portugal, its territories, and the European Continent. All responsible sources meeting the criteria set forth in the Request for Proposal (RFP) may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Government. The RFP package will be available for viewing and downloading on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) http://www.eps.gov on or about 28 Jul 03. A pre-proposal conference and a site visit will be held at Lajes Field on or about 11 Aug 03. The RFP package will be available on the Internet only. There will be no hard copies of this solicitation issued. The solicitation, plans, specifications and drawings will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government?s best interest. All proposals and other documents required for the proposal submittal, including amendments to the solicitation, shall be in paper medium.
