Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst (NAWCADLKE) intends to procure three hundred (300) diesel- electric trailer mounted, self contained, cooling, dehumidifying and ventilating unit, which will supply conditioned air to Naval aircraft equipment and avionics compartments during ground maintenance. The unit is expected to be a commercial unit with some modification possibly required to meet footprint constraints and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) requirements. The units shall be capable of delivering 10 tons (nominal) of conditioned air at 50 pounds per minute (ppm) at 3.3 pounds per square inch (psig). The unit shall deliver cooled air at 45 +/- 5 degrees (F) at an ambient air temperature of 105 degrees (F) at 50% relative humidity. The ambient operating temperature range shall be 0 ? 120 degrees (F). The unit shall be capable of operating with an electrical power source of 440 +/- 44 volts, 3 phase, 60-Hertz alternating current. The unit shall also include a diesel engine powered generator capable of providing the total power requirement for stand-alone air conditioning operation. This unit shall be used at shore base facilities and shipboard to support the F-18 (all variants), EA-6B, S-3, EA-18G and AV-8B platforms. The unit shall be trailer mounted and capable of being towed at speeds up to 7.5 mph. The gross vehicle weight shall be no greater than 3300 lbs, and the maximum dimensions are 120? (L) (towbar up) x 60? (W) x 40? (H). The Government anticipants awarding a Firm-Fixed Price contract through full and open competition. The solicitation will be posted on the NAVAIR homepage located at http://www.navair.navy.mil. Select ?Doing Business? and then ?Open Solicitations." Look for amendments on the web page. Hard copy of solicitations and amendments will NOT be mailed to contractors. The solicitation will be posted on the web, on or about 31 July 2003, upon your written request. The Government will NOT accept electronic offers.
