- Description
- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE ? The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has a requirement to: 1) upgrade our unsupported copy of JACK software package to the latest release available and 2) obtain the occupant packaging toolkit. Our current version is UNIX based and only runs on outdated unsupported SGI computers. The latest release of JACK is PC based and is compatible with Windows NT and 2000 operating systems. The software will be used to study harness fit to various body shapes and farm tractor cab accommodation to tractor operators. We originally purchased JACK from the developer, the University of Pennsylvania; Unigraphics Solutions now owns the right to license the upgrade. It is advantageous to the Government to use the upgrade instead of seeking to purchase new software development. The only known source to obtain the upgraded software license is through Unigraphics Solutions Inc., Waltham, MA. Organizations who believe they can provide the required license and support may respond within 10 days after publication of this notice. Responses shall be submitted to: Brenda L. Goodwin (MS-1019), Reference: 03DSR7-0184, DHHS, PHS, CDC, NIOSH, ALOSH, 1095 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000. Information received would generally be used for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. f no responses are received within 10 days, award will be made to Unigraphics Solutions, Inc. without further notices being issued. All responses received shall be considered by the Government. This notice is issued for informational purposes only.
